Elizabeth Taylor's expensive art collection goes under the hammer
After Elizabeth Taylor’s jewelry collection which went on auction last year, its time the legendary actress’s art collection to go under the hammer. After the jewelry collection smashed all auction record prices, it was the art collection of the famous star which fetched approximately $22 million from a set of 3 paintings, including the Vincent Van Gogh’s The Vue de l’Asile et de la Chapelle de Saint-Rémy (pictured below) which sold for $15.91 million, the Portrait of Edgar Degas which bought in $1.13 million, and also the Camille Pissarro scenery which fetched $4.77 million. There were around 35 other works of art, which also went under the hammer at the event by Christie's. It showed the late actresses various appetites for collecting works of notoriety, and her skill at selecting the best of the lot.
