New Direction for Derecktor
This luxury concept yacht is called New Direction for Derecktor. The new yachts are designed by Azure Naval Architects of The Netherlands. Azure’s principals, Hugo van Wieringen and Diederik van der Hoek were formerly Chief Naval Architect and Manager of Yacht Services, respectively, at DeVoogt Naval Architects. While at DeVoogt, the pair was responsible for the design and engineering of new motor yacht construction from 30 to 135 meters in length, as well as the engineering and management of major refit projects. The Derecktor 60 and Derecktor 80 both exhibit striking appearance with high, powerful bow sections and sleek superstructure. These features provide for maximum sea-keeping ability – for these yachts are meant for voyaging. The yachts incorporate a number of ingenious engineering and design features aimed at making them a singular combination of safety, luxury, and reliability. The 80m is an elegant small (actually not so small) ship, with virtually every comfort and operating feature conceivable. Her completely private owner’s suite includes a private lounge and forward observation deck. The layout also affords 360 degree views from the owner’s space, yet remarkable seclusion from the activity on the rest of the vessel. A cinema, gym with sauna, two lounges, grand dining room, galley befitting a five-star restaurant and three pantries cater to the owner and guests – with a five-deck elevator to help reach them all. There is inside storage for two 30-ft. tenders, two 22-ft. tenders and a slew of jet skis, small boats, and gear. Both yachts incorporate a steel hull and aluminum superstructure, a combination that makes for great strength while saving weight and affording distinctive exterior styling. Multiple interior style options will be developed, while still leaving ample design decisions at the discretion of the owner.
